A dimension is a structural attribute that consists of a list of members that, in the perception of users, are of the same type. For example months, days, years, hours, etc. are part of the dimension ‘time’. Countries, cities, streets, etc. are part of the ‘geography’ dimension. A dimension serves as an index to identify values within a multi-dimensional array. Dimensions make it possible to organize and select data for research and analysis in a very intuitive way.
